Industry–Government Collaboration: PEZA Director General Visits Teradyne Cebu

The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), led by Director General Tereso O. Panga, paid an official visit last March 10, 2026 to Teradyne Philippines Ltd. in Cebu as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration between government and industry in developing a future‑ready Filipino workforce.

The visit provided an opportunity for both organizations to align on shared goals centered on skills development, innovation, and long‑term talent sustainability.

A key objective of the visit was to explore joint projects focused on establishing specialized training facilities that will serve as platforms for upskilling and reskilling Filipino talent. These centers are envisioned to bridge industry requirements and workforce capabilities by delivering practical, industry‑driven programs that directly support the evolving needs of advanced manufacturing, engineering, and digital transformation.

Under the proposed collaboration, Teradyne will serve as subject‑matter expert and training provider, leveraging its deep technical expertise, global best practices, and proven experience in high‑technology manufacturing and engineering.

Teradyne will lead structured training programs covering the following core competency areas:

• Automated Test Equipment (ATE)

• Project Management

• Soldering and Manufacturing Skills

• Basic Electronics

• Artificial Intelligence (AI)

These focus areas are designed to address both foundational and advanced skill requirements, ensuring that participants gain relevant, job‑ready competencies immediately applicable in industrial and technology‑driven environments.

The initiative reflects PEZA’s continued commitment to fostering strong partnerships with locator companies to enhance workforce competitiveness, while enabling companies like Teradyne to actively contribute to national talent development.

By combining PEZA’s policy and ecosystem support with Teradyne’s technical leadership, the collaboration aims to create sustainable training models that benefit not only Teradyne employees but also the broader Philippine industrial community.

Overall, the visit underscored a shared vision between PEZA and Teradyne—to invest in people, elevate technical excellence, and strengthen the Philippines’ position as a hub for skilled, innovation‑driven talent. The proposed joint training centers represent a strategic step toward building a resilient and future‑ready Filipino workforce aligned with global industry standards.
